Help? Character Development

Hi Guys,
Not wanting to seem stupid, I have read alot about Irish history,
and English history, but I cannot figure out how to tie myself into
the crew of Blackdawn as an Irish Woman. For instance, if I was
Irish, would I still wear Irish dress if I lived in England working
for an English Family? How would a young Irish woman have come to be working for and English family in England in the first
place? Would that have been historically accurate? My character is a young single Irish lass, who spins wool, sews, keeps the "children" of the family in line, cooks, makes the medicines and soaps and such, and acts as chaperone/companion for Capt Frobinshire's goodly wife as he is away so often, and Mamma does often have need to be out in the town on family business.

Also, if I do adopt just this persona, that is the end of the Hysterical insulted daughter routine I do at the Court of Assi (sp?)
Someone would have to take my place..............Amy? Or we'd have to work out some other routine?
I'd appreciate anyones help on this, I am having a hard time of it.
I am working on a new costume for this season, and this will help me know which island to strive for, {{{GRIN}}}

Love and Light,
Kathleen

PS I don't even know if I can do an English Accent, not that my Irish is all that good.
